Both alcohol and nicotine are considered "drugs", so if an individual engages one or each of these practices, they're drug taking? By definition it would surely appear as if this is the case. And that means that I was a drug abuser for the superior component of fifteen years. Not merely was I drug taking, but most of the people today I know are also drug abusers. This is an intriguing point, because for the fifteen years that alcohol and cigarettes have been a main portion of my life, I did not feel of myself as a drug abuser.
That's how these two drugs work although. They're each accepted in our society. Alcohol is a lot more accepted than cigarettes (nicotine) today, but they're each viewed as "not that bad". This is intriguing, since these two drugs in all probability account for far more deaths than any other drug on this planet. But as long as huge businesses make tons of dollars distributing these drugs, we'll all just ignore that ugly small reality.
As I mentioned just before, throughout the fifteen years I partook in these I drugs, I didn't think like this. As soon as I stopped, I realized that 1 of the side effects of utilizing these drugs is the reality that they fully distort your thinking. It's ironic that I never very grasped this reality, when it seems so blatantly apparent. Of course they distort your thinking, that is why we all engage in such actions appropriate? To distort our thinking or at the very least our "reality" for a brief time?
I consider Lao Tzu stated it most effective when he mentioned," He who knows that sufficient is enough will generally have adequate." That's a very poignant observation, since when I drank it seemed that sufficient was never sufficient. The very same went for cigarettes. I always wanted an additional 1. Enough was never enough. And at the end of the day, is not that what all of these organizations want from us? To never really want there to be enough, so that we maintain getting their items? Now that I'm no longer caught up in the vicious cycle, it sure seems like it.
The bottom line is that alcohol and nicotine are, devoid of question, the drugs that are the most abused in our country. And until you break the cycle of utilizing these drugs, you won't fully realize this reality. You can maintain on thinking that heroine, cocaine, crack, and meth are the "real" drugs when the truth is, nicotine and alcohol are just as poor and additional than probably take the lives of more persons and destroy a lot more lives. This ugly small reality is worth thinking about, at the incredibly least, since at the finish of the day, it the truth.
